VISION
THE EDUCATION CENTER is dedicated to helping New Mexico educational institutions eliminate the achievement gap among New Mexico students.

MISSION
Based on the 2002 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data for New Mexico students, 36% of all fourth graders cannot read at the basic level, and only 26% of fourth graders are at or above proficient in mathematics. While assessment data show a strong correlation between poverty and low student achievement, research consistently supports the knowledge that students can achieve at high levels — provided they have the learning environments and instruction they need for success. THE EDUCATION CENTER is committed to the belief that all New Mexico students, PK-20, can meet high expectations for learning.
